The
Grounds Department is responsible for the care of all general-fund
supported landscaped areas on campus. In addition, new projects
are performed to renovate and expand these areas as needed by
the campus community. Grounds is responsible for providing a clean,
attractive, and safe environment for the University's 226 acres.
The
Grounds department tasks consist of: trash and receptacle pickup
(daily), turf area mowing (weekly), turf and ground cover edging
(twice a month), and shrub trimming (every other month). Additionally,
the Grounds Department trims low hanging branches from trees and
provides weed control. A high priority is placed on dependability,
initiative, honesty, pride, cooperation and professional attitude
in the work of our staff.
Automotive
and Motor Pool Services
The
Automotive Mechanic operation makes available a fleet of sedans,
service trucks, mini-vans and other utility vehicles campuswide,
to be used by state employees on official state business to general-fund
sponsored programs. (See Vehicle Rentals for more information.)
Automotive service requests should be made through the work request
desk at extension 75175. For additional information, please

Housing
Grounds Maintenance
Housing
Grounds Maintenance is a function of the Grounds Department and
is performed on a chargeback basis. Please contact Facilities
Services at extension 75175 or 75178 for additional
information.
Irrigation
Services
The
Irrigation Specialists maintain all irrigation systems on campus.

Parking
Lot Maintenance
Campus
parking lots are cleaned and maintained on a chargeback basis
by the Grounds Department daily. Parking lots are swept on a weekly
basis and Grounds staff also makes routine pavement repairs. For

75178 to report necessary maintenance or repairs.
Pest
Control
The
Grounds Department provides basic pest control services. Indoor
pest control includes: ants, mice, flies, roaches and gnat control.
Outdoor pest control includes: skunks, possums, ground squirrels,
gophers, rabbits, and all pests to turf, trees, ground covers
and shrubs. Additional information on campus pest control policy
may be requested through the Grounds Supervisor at extension 5178
or the Environmental Health and Safety Office at extension 75179.
Non-general fund programs may be provided service on a chargeback
basis. To request pest control services, please contact Facilities
Services at extension 75175.
