AUTOMOTIVE > Defensive Driving Test

The Defensive Driving Test (DDT) is required for all State employees who will be driving a state issued vehicle at any time, including electric carts.  This is mandated by the State for liability purposes.

Parking Services, (909) 537-5912, offers a 30-minute video and administers the multiple choice test every Tuesday at 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. and every Friday at 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.  Employees must bring a pencil and a current California Driver's License.   The status of their Driver's License is verified by Public Safety.  A maximum of eight answers can be missed yet pass the test.  If successful in passing the DDT, the employee is given a Defensive Driving card that is valid for three years.  The card should be carried with the employee's Driver's License at all times.  The DDT card is to be displayed when picking up a state-issued rental vehicle.
