In
order to help ensure that all campus life and safety devices are adequately
maintained, a Preventive Maintenance Repair Center was created in Facilities
Services. Glenzora Rogers has been identified as the Preventive Maintenance
Coordinator and represents the preventive maintenance function to the
campus and coordinates maintenance program activities.
Preventive maintenance (PM) is a schedule of planned maintenance actions aimed at the prevention of breakdowns and failures - especially when it comes to critical equipment. Emergency generators, elevators, and fire safety equipment are examples of critical equipment.
A computerized maintenance management system called TMA is used to streamline the PM process and ensure accomplishment of maintenance within prescribed periodicity. From this data, reports can be generated and an analysis performed on PM effectiveness, load leveling, and PM work order completion.
