The university has created an award to recognize one person at CSUSB, bi-annually, who best emulates Augie’s caring spirit, unquenchable enthusiasm for assisting others, and warmth in thoughtfully reaching out to friends and strangers alike. Beginning this year of 2006, such an award, “The Augie”, should become among the most coveted prizes the university offers. Augie was himself among the most special people any of us has met.
